Qualifications:
This role requires an experienced technical visionary, who designs a blueprint for web solutions based on custom client requirements and with regard to available technologies in such a way that allows developers to put the blueprint into practice, ensuring successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, Lead, and Grow our development teams to make sure capacity is available and developers are furthering their skill-set.
- Drive all critical decisions about the organization of the web/software system including:
- Functionality
- Performance
- Reuse
- Scalability
- Security
- Technology constraints & tradeoffs
- Define a general architectural vision that guides the clients’ organization and serves as a basis for mutual understanding between all parties involved.
- Ensure technical decisions are effectively communicated to project stakeholders and developers.
- Be accountable for the code quality and technical risks (while the Project Manager undertakes the risks associated with budget, scope, and timelines).
- Produce high-level functional and non-functional requirements related to performance, security, reliability, and other quality aspects.
- Select the technical stack and deployment strategies, roughly estimate staff hours and identify resource needs.
- Be experienced with recommending and owning risk mitigation plans such as building prototypes to prove a project’s viability.
- Collaborate and take the lead on technical discussions with clients, Web Sales Engineers, Project Managers, designers and developers.
- Liaise directly with the sales team, to identify potential opportunities and technical risks that would impact cost, proposal structure & engagement terms.
- Must have excellent time management & organizational skills in order to meet the demands and ensure alignment with the various parties involved in the project lifecycle.
- Must have very strong written and verbal communication skills (U.S. English)
Desired Skills:
- Proven experience at managing a remote development team
- Proven experience as software technical architect
- Expert with HTML5 / CSS3, JavaScript and UI/UX design
- 10+ Years of experience in WordPress web / application development, Plugins, Limitations, capabilities, and conflicts.
- 5+ Years of experience with various other technologies/languages (such as PHP, Java, Python, C++, ReactJS, etc..)
- Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture
- Understanding of software quality assurance principles
- A technical mindset with great attention to detail
- High quality organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
- Familiarity with API Integration and handling API calls
- MySQL/Maria Database Experience a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity and open source technologies preferred.
- Experience overseeing customized development of processes for multiple projects simultaneously
- Professional experience analyzing code for weaknesses and errors, and overseeing plans to improve them
- Understanding of different hosting environments such as WPEngine, Flywheel, Kinsta, AWS preferred.
