Name/title: Katie Olsen – PPC Strategist
Home office: I had a dedicated home office which turned into the guest bedroom so we could have a baby nursery. So right now I am between offices, mainly working on my laptop on the couch.
Family and pets: We have a dog named Pearl who is a handful and four cats, Harvey, Cooper, Lizey, and Ms. Peepers. We also welcomed a beautiful baby boy into our family in September, he is a perfect angel!
Start date at Thrive: April 2018
How did you get started with PPC?
I honestly don’t remember, it just happened. I started helping out a friend with their marketing needs and one thing led to another.
What do you love about working for Thrive so far?
The company is very family-friendly. I love that once the day is over there is no expectation to reply to emails or get work done until the next workday. Also, working from home means every day can be pajama day!
When you’re not at work, how do you spend your time?
When I am not working I am hanging out with my son and husband, playing in the playroom, going for walks, or watching movies. I also enjoy trying new restaurants and checking out new breweries!
If you could turn anything into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a gold medal for?
Cooking and baking, I love trying new recipes and cooking for friends and family. I am always the go-to person at the holidays for special, tasty desserts.
What would be your karaoke go-to song and what setting would we likely find you singing it in?
I haven’t done karaoke in years haha. I like to do classic 90s pop songs, “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” by Shania Twain is always a crowd pleaser!
If you could be any character from any book or movie, who would you be?
Pam from The Office. Dunder Mifflin would be a fun place to work!
Where did you grow up and what is special about that place?
I grew up in Putnam, CT. It is quite small. I loved the small-town vibe and all the boutique shops and restaurants. There were a lot of agricultural fairs in the fall and plenty of lakes to skate on in the winter.
If you were in a room with three billionaires, what would you ask them and why?
I am a pretty relaxed person, so I am sure my questions would be fun and casual. Perhaps, what is their favorite pizza topping because everyone loves pizza so that is a great conversation starter! I would ask them if they have any pets, I am an animal lover and people love talking about their pets. Lastly, being the frugal person I am, I would ask them who is paying for dinner.
If you could invite three people to dinner (dead or alive), who would be at the table and why?
• I would invite my sister-in-law and her husband, they live in CT and we don’t seem them nearly as often as we would like. We always have fun with them and miss them so much.
• I would invite my best friend that lives in Boston, this is also someone I don’t get to see nearly as much as I would like. We have been friends since kindergarten and always have a silly time!
• Lastly, I would invite Bobby Flay cause someone’s got to cook for us, I’ll be too busy catching up with family and friends!
